People of the Internet!

It has been a long time since our last update! How long? The last time we sent out an update Beach Dog was quoted as saying "the first big-spending pork-barrel earmark bill that comes across my desk, I will veto it. I will make them famous, and you will know their names. You will know their names!" over and over again, until the ghost of candidate John McCain appeared in the darkened bathroom mirror and reminded him that Republicans are still worse than Democrats, no matter how you slice it. The last time we sent out an update Pervert was still a citizen of the world rather than a prisoner in a special East Coast "graduate school" camp with an intensive ESL program. He now knows at least twenty words! His French friends are impressed. The last time we sent out an update Skye Myles and George Bush finally took it to the Ping-Pong table, and after sixteen hours and eight shitty years, Skye Myles reigned supreme. Just like Jesus. They look nothing alike, though. Except for the beards, maybe.

It's 2010! The Coke Dares have a new record for you to spend your hard-earned CD money on, because Jesus (or Skye Myles) knows that you have been saving money on CDs for the last years since no one buys CDs anymore. Except for from us. Right? Right! The record is a double EP -- one new, one old, both mastered. The new part, The Yellow Ages, features songs that aren't that old. They're almost new! Far newer than the songs were when we released Feelin' Up a full three years after recording it. We're less than a year behind on this one. Praise be to Jesus (or props be to Skye Myles, for pushing this one through). The old part, The Slow EP, is newly mastered and now on a real, honest-to-Jesus (or Skye Myles) pressed CD, for those of you who don't have computers and use console CD players. When I say "those of you" I mean "you" and when I say "you" I mean you, Sarah S. I've seen your CD player.

Also, unbelievably, we're going on tour Jan. 12th-Jan.18th, a week from this update! We've learned that not telling people about it gets about as many people to the shows as telling people about it. So we're telling you now. We hope to see you there. The dates are below. In addition to these live show things we'll be doing a Daytrotter session at the end of it all. We wonder what the record number of songs recorded at a Daytrotter session is. We want to beat that record.

And, to round out the first three months of the year, we'll be part of the Bloomington, IN Pit Stop Music Marathon in March. We'll be playing with Murder By Death at the Bishop on Saturday, March 13th.

Finally, come see Skye Myles's and Beach Dog's new band, Docents, on January 30th at the Video Saloon in Bloomington with Pravada and America Owns the Moon. In that band Skye Myles is called Pete Schreiner (for now -- he's also Thousand Arrows) and Beach Dog is called Jason Groth. Weird, I know, but sometimes people have to give up their Jesus (or Skye Myles) given names for anonymity's sake. It would be weird if someone said "Hey Beach Dog!" at a Docents show. So we have to hide a bit.

I hope we see you all out! Remember, history renews itself daily, so if you want to ignore it, don't wake up.
